Golden Circle, C-Prints (each 60x40 cm) displayed on people stoppers, 2019.

The paintings committed for the exhibition Intermission – A Temporary Interference at The Einar Jonsson Museum in Reykjavik were a breakthrough in my methodological approach on painting: first, I selected images from tourist company flyers in Reykjavik and painted them with oil on linen. After that, I digitalized them and put a text layer on the final image in Photoshop.

The medium of painting made a full circle from a digitally photographed and printed image with text to a traditional painterly representation, and finally back into a digitally post-produced poster, where I implemented a selected citation from the flyers, which exposed the use of language that addresses the human desires of a real experience in nature.
