Posag, 2026
Oil on wood, embroidery on cotton, household objects
Approx. 100 × 50 × 50 cm
Posag means “dowry” in Polish. Taking its form from traditional wooden dowry chests, the work brings together painted panels, embroidery, and household objects given to us by our parents.
These belongings are part of our everyday life. Each time the work is exhibited, we lend them to the exhibition and live without them until they return. Their absence at home becomes part of the work.
The chest tells a story of care, inheritance, and making a home together. Its contents have histories and uses that continue beyond the exhibition, connecting our artistic collaboration with the life we share.
Exhibited in Draumaríngl at Gljúfrasteinn, 2026.
